The natural recycler…

The natural recycler…

Millipedes are detritivores, they feed on dead and decaying plant matter. Once digested the nutrients are passed back in to the soil more quickly than the time it would take to decompose naturally.

Did you know there are over ten thousand Millipede species in the world and these docile creatures come in an array of different colours and sizes?

With their hundreds of legs, they like to spend most of their days traveling around chomping on decaying wood and fallen leaves.

Surprisingly long-lived and easy to look after, Millipedes can make a great pet as long as they are kept safe and secure.

Don’t forget you may not see your Millipede drink as they gain most of their moisture from the substrate and greens they eat but always provide a fresh water source anyway.
